WHO IS JOSE?

THE PERSON

I started coding because I wanted to build an anime web directory. That curiosity never really left. It became the way I approach software: understand how something works, find the real problem, and build something useful around it.

For more than 10 years I have worked on WordPress platforms, Laravel tools, Node and NestJS APIs, internal dashboards, automation scripts, and data workflows. I have worked in banks, marketplaces, warehouses, media platforms, and sports technology. Different environments, same approach: understand the problem first, write the code second.

I care about software that survives real users, changing requirements, and messy operations. I also care about people. I like mentoring, explaining technical ideas in simple ways, and building tools that respect the people who have to use them.

I like building the kind of tools that make people faster and efficient, but also looking good.

Not everything I do lives in a terminal. These are the things that keep me curious outside work.

Photography

Photography helps me practice composition, patience, and noticing details. It is one of the ways I train my eye outside the screen.

02 /

Gaming

I like games that reward systems thinking, patience, and smart decisions. League of Legends, strategy games, and anything with interesting mechanics usually gets my attention.

03 /

Drawing

I draw characters, ideas, and visual concepts. It connects with the way I think about interfaces, composition, and storytelling.

04 /

INDYGG

I am building INDYGG as a side project for the Indiana gaming and esports community. It lets me combine portfolio, community-building, content, and local discovery.

05 /

Mentoring

I enjoy helping junior developers understand the real gap between tutorials and production work: debugging, tradeoffs, communication, and confidence.

06 /

Two Worlds

Spanish is my first language and English is now part of my daily work. I have worked with teams and users across different contexts, and that helps me explain technical ideas clearly.

ENGINEERING FIELD NOTES.

// not just tech

I write about the real side of engineering: shipping under constraints, working bilingually, learning through projects, and turning messy business problems into tools people use.

// let's build

Need someone who can fix, build, and ship?

I work across WordPress, backend systems, APIs, automation, and modern frontend interfaces.
